C. - discovered on the pulpit plinth of an ancient hermitage, which gave rise to the Church of S. Romão.
The discovery of two ancient graves, where some bones and a jug were found, proves the presence of the Visigoths during the 5th century d. Ç.
The names of localities such as Almargens, Alcaria, Alportel and Mesquita, as well as some coins, mark the passage of the Arabs through the county.
